“Like I said, the system is totally rigged!”
Presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump says Hillary Clinton will not face charges for conducting sensitive State Department business on her private email server.
Trump’s statement follows Clinton’s three and a half hour meeting today with investigators at FBI headquarters in Washington.
“She is pleased to have had the opportunity to assist the Department of Justice in bringing this review to a conclusion,” Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said. “Out of respect for the investigative process, she will not comment further on her interview.”
Political insiders have thus far been largely divided on whether or not Clinton will face indictment.
Although investigators may be examining the possibility of charging Clinton under the Espionage Act and Title 18, many are skeptical given the candidate’s influence.
Pressure on the FBI to indict Clinton has becomes increasingly strong in light of Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s secret meeting with Bill Clinton this week.
A reporter on scene indicated that FBI agents even went as far as to demand that “no photos” and “no cell phones” be present during the clandestine meeting.
Trump also decried the pair’s private gathering shortly after his initial tweet, calling Bill’s actions “stupid.”
The FBI is expected to be in the final stages of the investigation.
