travel bans don’t work to contain a respiratory virus.
i just thought someone should come out and say this point blank.
because it’s not only true, but it’s known, knowable, and widely proven by a century of evidence that has in no way been contradicted by the events of 2020-1.

so this is not about “being on the side of science.”
science is very much on the other team here.
travel bans are obvious snake oil.
so why do it?
because travel bans make for great panic theater about the big scary world and our brave leaders protecting us from its manyfold terrors.
alas, this pose would be far more convincing if these feckless fools could at least keep their stories straight.
hilariously (and tellingly) they cannot.
just as with vaccines, apparently the efficacy and morality of any given intervention appears to hinge solely upon which party occupies the oval office.
i’d rather die than inject trump toxin but the same jab rebranded as biden’s fauci ouchie is pure olympian dreamwater.
it’s all so tiresome and so predictable.
these people have the memory of a goldfish and the morality of a piranha.
they are not even trying to hide it.
and clearly, they are gearing up for the next round of “you’ll never escape the punitive public health hamster wheel” so aptly encapsulated in a flow diagram by gatopal™ prof freedom.
it’s the same shabby tricks from the same shabby charlatans.
do you really want another trip around this process?

if you need this all so desperately, at least pick some liars that are charming or at a bare minimum not so toxically oppressive.
