Let’s make something up
It will be the year 2371, when space ships are flying into galactic beasts and nucleonic beams are used to sew them up after you maim them by flying directly into them. In this particular episode, the Voyager crew thought they could harvest omicron particles that they had detected emanating from a ‘nebula’ and use these omicron particles to power their ship. Turns out the omicron particles were a part of the beast’s circulatory system. Whoops.

The crew of the USS Voyager entered a nebula in which they had detected unusually high levels of omicron particles, hoping to collect the particles to provide an additional antimatter reserve. It was eventually determined, however, that the phenomenon was not, in fact, a nebula, but rather an enormous life form which utilized omicron particles in its circulatory system. Realizing that they had seriously injured the life form upon entering it, Captain Janeway ordered Voyager into the being’s wound, allowing the ship, the energy systems of which were compatible with omicron particles, to serve as an energy conduit across the wound, facilitating a regeneration of the damaged tissue. Directing two nucleonic beams fore and aft, parallel to the central axis of the ship, the crew of Voyager were successfully able to heal the life form which they had inadvertently wounded. This was a great episode of Star Trek Voyager. I liked it a lot because they employed an outdated concept in medical techniques called ‘suturing’. I particularly liked the episode (Episode: “Parralax”) where Janeway and Torres really connect because they’re both science nerds, despite their ‘disagreements’ up to that episode. But I digress.
A little about Omicron.
Omicron is the 15th letter of the Greek alphabet.2 Omicron is also a company that ‘serves the electrical power industry with innovative products and services for testing, diagnostics and monitoring of assets worldwide’. Omicron is also a privately held company (Omicron Development LLC) doing something with OSIsoft PI System. Whatever that means. It’s also the name of a lab that measures stuff. You might also find it interesting that Omicron is a Biochemical manufacturer. Since 1982!
So the name Omicron has been used for all sorts of things over the years. I personally like the Star Trek application the most so let’s talk about that. Omicron particles are extremely rare and can be used both in holography3 and as a source of anti-matter for reactions to propel the Starship Voyager through the Delta Quadrant. Delta, eh? Omicron energy is an energy form created by certain forms of matter-antimatter reactions, and which can be toxic to certain forms of humanoid life.
Oh, oh, I almost forgot! Forget Star Trek. I forgot to mention the Coronavirus Omicron Variant! Let’s give it a cool name because we’re both lazy and cool, like, COV. Wait now. CoV? I think that name is taken. Ok. COV it is. Coming to you soon from a South Africa near you!
Now, if I was going to be a new variant of concern, I wouldn’t come from South Africa. Not that I wouldn’t love to come from South Africa. They have some sick waves there and amazing people and culture. If I was a variant of concern I would come from either Israel or Gibraltar. Or both. Why? See the plot below for percentages of fully-injected people per population base.

Now don’t get me wrong. There are a lot of ‘cases’ of COVID-19 in South Africa… Wait. No there aren’t. That’s Israel that has a proportionally high number of cases.

So why would I come from Israel or Gibraltar if I was a variant of concern? Let’s background-ify. A variant of concern, or even just a regular variant, comes about through the natural selection process during viral replication. Viral replicates = viral mutations occur. Viral mutation rates can vary according to such things as polymerase fidelity, sequence context, the cellular micro-environment, proofreading, and access to post-replicative repair, to name a few. A scenario where one may imagine the mutation rate increasing is one that involves increased specific selection pressure. Such specific selection pressures can be imposed intra4 and/or inter-host. The intra-host specific pressure can arise due to targeted immune response triggers, such as vaccines or mRNA-LNP injectable biological products, producing a wonderful immune bowl of soup that’s just right to allow replicating virus an environment to promote its effective escape. Now, intra-host population dynamics are still being studied but it has been found that:
compared to the respiratory tract (RT) populations, the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) populations showed a rapid accumulation and better maintenance of intra-host variants, reflecting a rapidly recovered genetic diversity following the intra-host migration.
Spike protein-specific antibodies are mass-produced upon manufacture and distribution of translated cytotoxic5 foreign spike proteins, and are subsequently circulating for a short time (or depending on how long it takes to ‘clear’ the spike protein), meaning that any virus that one encounters as part of challenge that manages to become a member of say RT or GIT populations (subsequent to infecting cells to productively replicate), will do so in the context of these antibodies. So what will the result be? Survival of the fittest variants complete with spike proteins resistant to the specific antibodies! People who are multiply-injected are breeding grounds for variants of concern due to the selective immune pressure mounted in response to the lurking spike proteins. And what about inter-host pressure?
Imagine we have a fully-injected breeding ground for variants of concern on our hands. Let’s call them: Increduloidal Gold. Let’s say, Increduloidal Gold was doubly-injected and has no protective immunity against the Delta variant. Increduloidal Gold decided to inject themselves again with the same product as the first two injections, because, … , Gold believed, it would… be… protective? So let’s just call Increduloidal Gold fully-injected. (Don’t get me started.) Increduloidal Gold is not protected against Delta. I think I said that already. This means that the immune mediators, such as spike-specific antibodies, don’t bind the spike protein epitopes of Delta with high affinity and thus do not block infection or aid in clearance of the virus once produced. So Increduloidal Gold is not only producing potential variants of concern and passing these onto others, Increduloidal Gold is susceptible to other variants that others in the same situation are producing and passing on! What a mish-mash, hey? In any case, we have transmission of variants, that are produced intra-and host, within the population of susceptibles. Which is everyone.
SARS-CoV-2 needs to hijack the transcription and translational machinery of the host cell for a productive infection to happen. However, given the different susceptible cells, mechanisms of immune escape and micro-environment in RT and GIT, SARS-CoV-2 infecting different tissues may have adapted the viral variation and deleterious mutation removal towards their tropism. One plausible hypothesis is that the stronger selection pressure or immune response in the respiratory tract may restrict the population diversity of SARS-CoV-2, compared with the viral population in GIT.
What was I writing about? Oh yeah. Star Trek. So the moral of the story is: watch more Star Trek. Watch less legacy media glop. Think about how variants of concern may emerge. Think about the fact that the ‘2 weeks to flatten the curve’ has become 2 years to ruin society and create complete mistrust in government and authority. Yes. Let’s prolong this. Just. One. More. Time.
And by the way, I am not saying that variants of concern are not a threat. They are. Especially if our species makes the colossally stupid move of injecting this garbage into the non-vulnerable populations, like our children. By the way (encore), you should expect variants of concern to emerge from highly-injected places like Gibraltar and Israel during the injection roll-out into the 5-11 year olds. At least, that is what I would expect. I could be wrong.
I realize that this piece is a bit discombobulated, but the take home message is to take this new alleged Omicron variant with a large grain of salt. I am not saying to disregard it as total nonsense, but, in light of the chaos that we live in where Science doesn’t exist, unqualified rich assholes makes decisions for everyone and forced experimental injections are considered ‘good for your health’, I think it’s possible that it is a smoke screen to cover up the upcoming injection-induced hospitalizations and deaths.
