NZ mainstream media ignored details that Alan Barlow, who is convicted of attempting to hire a ‘hit-man’ to kill his parents, is also a convicted paedophile and a CYFS security guard. Barlow’s parents are also convicted paedophiles according to Dan Ryder.
Ryder, a anti-CYFS activist, told radio host Vinny Eastwood that he was approached in Invercargill by Barlow and offered $150,000 to kill his parents. “I was stunned and shocked … I’m an activist not a murderer” said Ryder.
Ryder said he played along with Barlow in order to get enough information to pass on to police, which he did, but was met with indifference by a disinterested Invercargill police officer. “Don’t worry about it Dean, just leave it alone, they’re all idiots” Ryder says he was told.
“I was stunned, how corrupt are our police that they’re prepared to let a couple of people die?” Ryder said.
Ryder says he then contacted the Auckland police who asked him to met them for an interview. Ryder then arranged for a meeting with Barlow in Tauranga in order to get incontrovertible proof of the murder plot for police.
Police then conducted an undercover sting to apprehend and arrest Barlow who had drawn up detailed plans of his parents’ house for a potential hit-man to kill them.
“I met him [Barlow] a few years ago when I was protesting around the country against Child Youth and Family” said Ryder.
Ryder says he was told by Barlow that there are “paedophiles in the system” as well as “safe-houses” known to people connected to CYFS where child abuse is happening.
Ryder notes that the police have not expanded their investigation from the information that Barlow was working for CYFS as well as being a convicted paedophile.
None of these details have been reported by mainstream media in New Zealand who only acknowledged that Barlow was a security guard.
Barlow was found guilty in the Rotorua District Court on 19 August and has been remanded in custody for sentencing on 26 September.
