Jeremy Scahill attacks and snubs popular alternative media and anti-establishment views

Investigative reporter and author Jeremy Scahill has launched a defamatory attack on radio host and alternative media legend Alex Jones as well as Mother Agnes Mariam de la Croix a Carmelite nun working in war-torn Syria who exposed the Syrian chemical attack as a staged and manipulated event perpetrated most likely by the so-called “rebels”.

Scahill, the author of Blackwater and Dirty Wars, also abruptly cancelled an appearance on RT’s Keiser Report apparently offering little explanation.

Appearing on a C-Span talk show to promote the documentary adaptation of his latest book Dirty Wars Scahill responded to a caller who asked for Scahill’s opinion of Alex Jones by calling Jones a “die-hard insane lunatic” who cultivates absurd conspiracy theories; a rather bitter and sweeping statement made without providing any factual evidence.

Scahill also threatened to cancel his speaking engagement at an international conference on the crisis in Syria organised by the Stop The War group unless they withdrew their invitation to Mother Agnes who was also scheduled to speak but subsequently withdrew her acceptance of the invitation at her own volition as she feared this controversy would disrupt the conference and did not want to impede any work that might be helpful towards a resolution to the Syrian conflict.

The irony of an ostensibly anti-establishment; anti-war leftist media darling attacking Jones and Mother Agnes, who are demonstrably anti-establishment as well as anti-war, cannot be understated, however, upon revelations that Scahill is being funded, in a new media venture with Glenn Greenwald, by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar whose company Omidyar Network has connections with the US National Security Agency (NSA) it could be concluded that Scahill’s anti-establishment muckraking appearance is a deception.

On the surface one would think that the likes of Scahill, Jones, Mother Agnes and Max Keiser would have more in common than in conflict, however, it is becoming somewhat apparent that Scahill could be an establishment shill in anti-establishment clothing.
